This section contains thirty-one (31) units and is operated under a Tripartite Agreement between the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, and the Native People of Thunder Bay Development Corporation. Rent is calculated using 30% of the total household gross income. An additional amount is added to the calculation, as all utilities are included.
SECTION 95 (formerly known as 56.1)
Under this section, an operating agreement was signed with Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation under the Urban Native Housing Program as the Corporation purchased each unit (171). The purpose of the Urban Native Housing Program is to help low-income Native households living in an urban area, obtain suitable and affordable housing. Rents are calculated by using 25% of the households’ total monthly gross income and again because the utilities are included, an additional surcharge is applied to help offset costs.
